A Brief Sketch of life

Cornelia “Connie” Smith was born on September 13, 1929 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Fred King and Mary Etta Coleman King.  Connie and her only brother, Fred King Jr., were the only children born to this union.  Connie had been a resident of Indianapolis since she was four years old.  She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and attended Indiana University.

Connie lived a long and joyous life with her husband, Ardrees Smith for forty-five years.  Both were members of the Knights of St. Peter Claver.  

Connie had one son, Robert Curd who had four children Armon D. Curd, Candace D. Henderson, Brian L. Curd and Kimberly D. Curd.   She was known as Momma Connie to her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Fred King Jr.; husband, Ardrees Smith; and son, Robert E. Curd.

Precious memories will be forever cherished by: her grandchildren, Armon Curd, Candace Henderson (David), Brian Curd (Stephanie) and Kimberly Curd; great-grandchildren, Kristen Smith, Michael Curd, Kieron Curd, Neal Curd, Simone Curd, Darian Henry, Breshay Curd, Lauren Curd, Brian Curd Jr.
