Cora Denise Hawkins Jones, the 2nd child born to Mr. Eugene Hawkins and Mrs. Callie Johnson Hawkins on May 18, 1962 at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS. She battled bravely a short battle with cancer and surrendered to the voice of the Almighty on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at High Smith Rainey Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Cora loved life and she loved the Lord and served faithfully in her service to God at the Highway Holiness Church of Deliverance, Fayetteville, NC under the leadership of Bishop James P. Swinson.
Her memories will be cherished in the hearts of her three children; Rakeem and Chakita Jones & Joshua Hawkins of the home; one granddaughter, Nyema Jones of the home; her mother Callie Hawkins of Fayetteville, NC; her father Eugene Hawkins, Sr of Houston, TX; one brother, Eugene Hawkins, Jr. (Michelle) of Fayetteville, NC; seven sisters, Cynthia Hawkins and Sherry Brown (Ervin) Lufkin, TX, Jackqueline Hawkins, Marlene Craddock (Kenny), Sharlene Hawkins, Jennifer West (Edward) and Jeannetta Porter, all of Fayetteville, NC; God-Grandmother Mrs. Ruby Bryant of Steadman, NC and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
