CONSTANCE C. KEEFE
WATERBURY- Constance Covelle (Copeland) Keefe, 74, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012, at her home with her best friend and loving partner, Dale Hallock, following a long illness.
Connie was born in Oklahoma City on October 2, 1937, the daughter of Dorothy (Welch) Copeland and Eleucious T. Copeland. She graduated from Battin High School in Elizabeth, NJ in 1956, then she served in the US Navy WAVES. She worked for 28 years at Birmingham Group in Ansonia, CT, where she had many friends among her co-workers. Connie was an avid sports fan, and supported the Silver City BMX track in Meriden for many years as a track official.
In addition to Dale, her lifelong partner of 30 years, Connie is survived by her daughter, Karen Colt and her husband, Mike of Rockville, CT, her daughter, Kim Moore and her husband, Jimmie of Homosassa, FL, and her son, Kelly Keefe of Waterbury, CT; her grandchildren, Brendon Colt of Manchester, Daniel Colt of Manchester, Lee Colt of Rockville and Zachary Keefe of Manchester; her great-grandchildren, Gage Colt of Glastonbury and Caleb Chasse of Bristol; as well as many nieces and nephews and close family friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Copeland of Winter Springs, FL, and her sister, Vicki King of Houston, TX.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Harold Leever Cancer Center, as well as the HOPE team of Waterbury VNA for the exceptional care given to Connie.
