Conrad Mitchell Roeder, 76 years of age, of Pinson, Alabama, passed away on August 14, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Conrad was born on January 13, 1944 in Carmi, Illinois to the late Ray and Jean Roeder. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Lee Bywaters and his brother Michael Roeder. Conrad served four years in the United States Navy on the USS Observation Island. After military service, he graduated from the University of Montevallo and pursued a 30 year career in Law Enforcement with the Homewood Police Department. During his years on the force, he was on the Pistol Team and was a Firearms Instructor. After he retired, he worked ten years for Jefferson County Courthouse Security. Conrad loved to read and study the Bible. He was a faithful member of the Deerfoot Church of Christ, where he served as an usher and prepared the Lord Supper for over 30 years. He played his guitar often and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed shooting at the range and teaching his daughters and grandsons how to shoot. He was a loving and caring man, devoted husband, father, and friend. He was always thinking of the needs of others first. He was well known for his great sense of humor, making people laugh with silly faces, and wearing his cowboy boots at every opportunity. He leaves behind in loving memory, his wife of 54 years, Judy Roeder and his adored daughters, Dawn Taylor, her husband David, their son David II and Heather Johnston, her husband Brian, their children Jake Johnson and Zachary Hutson. Conrad is also survived by his beloved sister, Kim Bywaters and his late brother’s children, Michael Roeder Jr., his wife Regina, and their children Hudson and Gavin and Aubrey Roeder Fiorillo, and husband Chris; sister-in laws Anita Adams, Sue Holcomb (Jim), Janice Dorn, and Gina Heaton (Kerry) and brother-in-law Robin Wiley (Charmaine); and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
