Connie Sue Alloway
1945-2017
Connie Sue Alloway passed away at home on May 12th from a long battle with cancer. She was born Connie Sue McMurren on October 29, 1946 to loving parents Ralph and Iona McMurren in Boise, Idaho. She graduated from Boise High School in 1965 and married her longtime sweetheart Omar “Bud” Alloway six months later. The following year while Bud was on one of two deployments to Vietnam she gave birth to her eldest child Tami. Three years later she had her second child, Aaron, and spent the next few years being a loving stay-at-home mom.
Connie began exploring her passion for Education as a teacher’s aide at Amity Elementary School. Then attended Boise State University, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1987 and beginning her career as a teacher at Lowell Elementary School.
In her retirement years Connie and her husband Bud became “Snowbirds” wintering in Yuma, Arizona, where she made many wonderful friends and enjoyed her retirement greatly.
Connie was widowed by Bud her loving husband of 51 years in 2016. Connie is survived by her daughter, Tami (Steve); her son Aaron (Ashley); 4 grandchildren; Jessica, Alyssa, Amanda and Max; 2 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Iona; her sister Sandy; sister-in-law, Ellie; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
It is an understatement to recognize Connie as the amazing, loving, special soul she was. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, past students, and fellow community members. She has warmed numerous lives.
