Connie L. Giedd, age 74, of Shannon, IL passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 5, 1947, in Freeport, IL to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Grimes) Lessman. Connie married Verlyn Giedd on September 14, 1968, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Shannon, IL.
Connie was a 1965 graduate of Shannon High School. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed attending to her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids’ activities. Connie also enjoyed crossword puzzles and solitaire.
She is survived by her husband, Verlyn Giedd of Shannon; her sons, Rod (Tammy) Giedd of Shannon and Ryan (Alisha Metz) Giedd of Shannon; her grandchildren, Drew (Marissa) Giedd, Delanie (Tyler) Mellnick, Chase (Katie) Giedd, Tyler ( Kara) Giedd, Emily Giedd, and Tanner Giedd; her great-grandchildren, Bearett Giedd, Beau Mellnick, Jaxon Giedd, Greyson Giedd, and Knox Kruse; and her brother, Larry Lessman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gerald Lessman; and her niece, Heather Lessman.
