Connie Black, 72, of Centralia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born January 11, 1949 in Centralia, the daughter of Charles Ellis and Violet (Jones) Ellis.
Connie is survived by her two daughters: Cammie Starr and husband Marlin of Centralia and Kimberly Clay and husband Kevin of Smyrna, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Jeremy Phelps and fiancé Stephen Allen of Centralia, Derrick Starr and wife Juli Starr of Centralia, Katelyn Starr and fiancé Michael Thouvenin of Centralia, Chelsea Hamil and fiancé Michael Bolton of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Brandon Hamil of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren: Jonathon Starr, Liam Starr, Oliver Starr, Owen Phelps, Mason Hamil, and Addilyn Bolton; a sister: Star Claxton and husband Dennis of Centralia; several nieces and nephews: Steven Koppen and wife Bobbie of Centralia, Andrew Koppen of Centralia, Julie Koppen and significant other Drake Hoskins of St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa Hering and husband Rick, Amber Bequette and Matthew Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Violet Ellis, lifetime spouse: Bradley Hartley, a brother: Charles “Chuck” Ellis, and a sister: Bonnie Rowekamp. Connie worked many years as a cook and loved her job. Her family was her world and she loved spending time with all of them and her friends.
