Concettina (Scata) Germano, “Connie”, 87, of Lebanon, CT, widow of Francesco “Frank” Germano, passed away peacefully at home on Friday April 28th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Solarino, Sicily on Dec. 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Rosa (Giliberto) Scata. She wed her beloved husband Frank in Sicily in 1947.  They emigrated to the United States in 1959, settling in New Britain. Frank predeceased her on Jan. 22, 2015 after 67 years of marriage. Connie was a talented seamstress for many years, working for many designers, but her greatest pride was cooking for her family. She leaves her family, to whom she was ever devoted; her daughter, Joanne Nowosad and husband, John of Lebanon; two sons, Anthony Germano and wife, Ginger of Old Saybrook and Emanuel “Manny” Germano of Berlin; seven grandchildren, Robert, Jason, James, Michael, Anthony, Frank and Alyssa; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Paolina Daddona; and a large extended family and friends. The family is eternally grateful to Connie’s caregiver, Laura Pendexter, for her devotion and loving care. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Julianna; and five siblings, Carmela Campailla, Antonina Giliberto, and Paolo, Emanuele and Corrado Scata.
