COL(Ret) James Patrick Ewing of Sheridan, Arkansas was born July 11, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of James Walton “Dub” and Dorothy Virginia Welch Ewing. He died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at his home at the age of 53.
COL(Ret) Ewing was the State Mobilization officer for the Arkansas National Guard having served for 33 years. Highlights of his career included Command of 3rd Battalion, 153rd Infantry, and Administrative Officer/Executive Officer of 39th Infantry Brigade. He was an active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist at Sheridan and was Secretary-Treasurer for The Wildcat Hunting Club, and was affiliated with Ironworkers Local 321.
