Colleen McDade Nesbit, 86, of Statesville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House.
Colleen was born July 11, 1930 in Iredell County to the late Charles Rufus McDade and Madge Catherine Sherrill McDade.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Bobby David Nesbit, son, Charles David Nesbit, and sister, Betty Brown Campbell.
She is survived by her son, Kelly McDade Nesbit (Leanne); daughters, Vicki Nesbit Williams (Criss) and Tracy Nesbit Grant (Jack); grandchildren, Christopher David Wlliams, Rachel Nesbit Shufelt (Brian), and Robert McDade Nesbit; great grandchildren, Christopher Banks Williams, Virginia McDade Williams, Samuel Robert Shufelt, Lyndal Leanne Shufelt, and Neely Kathryn Shufelt. Her memory will be cherished by all.
Colleen was an accomplished vocalist with her own radio program in the late 1940s. She was a lifelong member of Troutman 1st United Methodist Church, where she blessed the choir with her beautiful voice and was a member of United Methodist Women. She also volunteered with Troutman Help Ministries. She retired as a secretary from Barium Springs Home for Children. She was always a provider to all her dear friends through food, transportation, friendship and prayers.
