Colleen Buss, 59, of Meredosia, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at her residence. She was born April 12, 1948, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Walter and Helen Lyons Woods. She married John H. Buss in July of 1971, in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is survived by five sons, Rick (wife, Joni) Buss of Meredosia, John C. Buss of Meredosia, Todd (wife, Laurie) Buss of Chicago, Brent (fiance, Laura Tweedy) Buss of Meredosia, and Brian (wife, Holly) Buss of Meredosia; two daughters, Angela (husband, Mark) Sherman of Troy, Missouri and Christina Buss (fiancé, Justin Brogdon) of Jacksonville; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter F. (wife, Ann) Woods of Somerset, Mass.; two sisters, Beverly (husband, Charles) Wolfolk of Scottville and Sue (husband, Kent) Thomas of Pawnee. She was preceded in death by one brother, Grahame â??Budâ? Woods (surviving wife Rita of Springfield); one sister, Allene Cliburn (surviving husband Joseph of Springfield); and one great-grandson, Anthony Sanders.
Mrs. Buss was a graduate of Waverly High School. She was a member of Waverly Christian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Springfield. She was an avid reader, boating enthusiast, and gardener. Mrs. Buss worked for Jacksonville Developmental Center for twenty-eight years.
