Col. Minor “Spider” D. Webb, USAF, (ret)
Spider passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on June 3, 2013 peacefully after a brief battle with cancer. Minor Darrell Webb was born in Norman, Oklahoma on October 17, 1926 to Sadie and James Minor Webb.
He graduated from Norman High School in 1944 where he was a member of the boxing team. Spider attended the University of Arkansas as an Army Air Corp Cadet during World War II. During this time he married the love of his life of over 59 years Oleta “Weedie” Jackson at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado on September 10, 1949. Minor later joined the US Army 45th Division and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Spider and his supply group were well known for their martini drinking monkey, Suzy. Colonel Webb ended his distinguished career by joining and later retiring from USAF ANG where he served in support of the Vietnam Conflict. Spider’s last assignment was as a Commander of Resource Management at Will Rogers ANG Base.
He was preceded in death by his wife Oleta, mother Sadie, father James Minor and nephew Todd M Webb.
