He leaves to honor his life not mourn his passing: his wife of 62 years Willie Mae Thompson of the home; five children: Gloria Martin (Alexander) of Sanford, NC, Clyde Thompson, Jr. of the home, Carolyn Cheek (Ivon) of Gulf, NC, Larry Thompson (Sandra) of Goldston, NC, and Richard Thompson of Durham, NC; two sisters: Katherine Austin of Spring Valley, NY, and Mary McCants of Gulf, NC; Three Grandchildren he raised: Jeanette Butler, Lisa Williams and Sandra McBryde; nine additional grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; one aunt, three brother-in-laws and seven sisters-in-law; and two special family friends: Faye White and Adrian Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
