Mr. Clyde Posley Sr. was born to Adolphus Posley and Ola Bell Lounce on June 3, 1925, in West Point, Mississippi. It was there he received his early education and enjoyed his childhood years.   After moving to Indianapolis as a teenager, Mr. Posley was drafted into the US Army  during the     Korean War, earning several merits and advancing in rank. Completing his full-tour of duty, Mr.

 

On August 10, 1955, Mr. Posley was United in Holy Matrimony with Mary A. Morris. The two made Indianapolis, Indiana their home.

 

 Their marriage spanned almost 62 years. This union was only separated  by Mary Ann’s death July 26, 2017. This union was also blessed with five children: Amelia, Duane, Belinda, Beverly and Clyde Jr.,: 10 grand-children , and 5 great-grandchildren.

 

Clyde Sr. never met a stranger! He was full of joy and thankful for every day of his 95 years! The saying which will ring in the hearts of all who loved him is one he said everyday, “ The Lord is Still Blessing Me”! Clyde Sr. loved  teasing and joking with each grand-child and gave each one his or her own  special nickname! He also loved watching old western-cowboy movies and all types of sports.  He especially enjoyed “The Big Red Machine” (Cincinnati Reds baseball team ) and laughing as he listened to Chicago Cubs famed late announcer Harry Karry sing “take me out to the ball game for the 7th inning stretch”! But nothing was more joyful and relaxing for Clyde Sr. than simply sitting on the front porch of the family home and watching people go by and the neighborhood evolve over the years!

 

Mr. Posley held several jobs, which gave life to many great stories over the years. But his employment at Link Belt Foundry (PTC) for almost 30 years as a Iron cast-molder was one of his proudest achievements.  He retired from Link Belt in 1982.

 

Clyde Posley Sr. departed this earthly life on November 30, 2020, at the age of ninety-five years five months and twenty-eight days. He was preceded in death not only by his wife, but also his daughter: Belinda Posley Craig; his sister, Birdie Spearman, and his brother, D. Arthur Posley(Shirley) as well as his parents.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Amelia Ann Posley and Beverly Lynn Posley, two sons, Duane Posley (Regina) and Clyde Posley, Jr. (DiJeana); 10 grandchildren; Larry Manning Jr.(Bang On), Pactrick T. Craig, Ronald A. Craig, Christina Brimer (Matthew), Candice Craig (deceased), Eliza Craig, Jonathan D. Posley, Joshua D. Posley, JiLeigha D. Kelly(Dontrelle) JaKharia D. Posley; 5 great -grandchildren: Austin Manning, Dallas Manning, Jalen Craig-Posley, Alia Cox, Kharter J. Posley; one brother, Willie J. Posley; one sister, Cindy Washington of Kansas City, Missouri; several in-laws across the country, and four generations of nieces and nephews,  and a host of cousins, other relatives and loved ones.
