Cliffton Gene Whisner, 69, of Greenwood passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Greenwood.
Cliffton was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Indianapolis to Eldwin and Katherine (Lawless) Whisner.
He married Mary Judith Ballinger in 1986; they were married for 25 years. She preceded him in death in May 2011.
Cliffton was employed with General Motors as a metal fabricating engineer. He retired after 40 years of service with the company.
He enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing with his wife, and family gatherings. He especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a great debater of politics and sports and enjoyed watching old western and Sci fi movies.
Survivors include his four children, Angela (Bruce) Myers and Wendy (Rick) Rosado both of Greenwood, Matthew (Tiffany) Whisner of Carmel and Landon Whisner of Oklahoma, two stepdaughters, Roxie (George) McDonald of Greenfield and Shelly (Gary) McDowell of Florida, two brothers, Jim (Linda) Whisner and Phil (Connie) Whisner both of Indianapolis, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded death by his parents and his daughter, Tara Whisner.
