Cliff was called peacefully home to Heaven on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his residence at the age of 83 years. Cliff was born on June 15, 1935 to the late Harold Haberland and Cleora (Bedell) Johnson in Bay City. Cliff was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also an uncle, friend and coach to generations of Bay City’s youth. Cliff was involved in coaching baseball in Bay City for 27 years at South West Little League and Pony League. He also coached youth hockey for many years at The Market. Cliff taught hundreds of young boys how to be winners, but also how to hold their heads high and learn in defeat. He worked and retired after 35 years of service from Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan. Cliff was an avid outdoorsman which has carried over to this day through all of his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Janet of 65 years; sons, Kim 64 (Terri), Todd 61(Lynn), Rick 58 (Carra) and Joel 52 (Debbie); Cliff and Janet are blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph.
