Clifford D. Rose, the son of Augustus D. and Freda (Tolly) Rose, was born June 15, 1926 in Woodland, Iowa. He was a graduate of Garden Grove High School in 1942 in Garden Grove, Iowa. Clifford moved to Newton, Iowa in 1950.
On June 29, 1956, Clifford was united in marriage to Marlene Deitrick. He was a dedicated husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who enjoyed life and listening to friends play good old country music. Clifford worked for the Maytag Company for 38 years where he retired as a Superintendent of Manufacturing at Plant 2 in 1988.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gladys Marr; his niece, Laurie Rose and nephew, Jody Davison. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Marlene of Newton; his two brothers and sister-in-law, Bob Rose of Newton; L.D. and Ruthie Rose of Newton; his two sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and Louie O’Brien of Shennandoah, Iowa; Marie Davison of Humeston, Iowa; and 24 nieces and nephews; 46 great-nieces and nephews, 12 great-great-nieces and nephews; and his extended family, Bert and Joan Smith of Newton.
