Clifford A. Jeschke, 84, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at Manor Court.

He was born on June 13, 1928 in Freeport, Stephenson County, to John & Elsie (Hartzch) Jeschke. He married Carol Schulz on Sept. 30, 1956 at Grace Reformed Church in Orangeville, IL by Rev. A.R. Felts.

He served with the US Army Signal Corp during the Korean War from 1953-54. Cliff was an active member of the Dakota Community Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. He served as an elder, trustee, Sunday school teacher, superintendent, and a tenor in the choir. Cliff was a farmer all his life and a member of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed flying his airplane and was a member of Flying Farmers.

He loved to bike, swim, and jog. In his 70’s he entered numerous senior triathlons. He also did award-winning restorations on 5 trucks and 1 tractor.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Freeport; his daughters Karen (Ron) Moore of Hammond, WI, Sandy (Mike) Vehmeier of Nichols, NY, and Linda (Dan Stevenson) Jeschke of Kotzebue, AK; his grandchildren Dan & Joe Moore, Katie (Nathan) Hamm, Isaac & Drew Vehmeier; and his great grandchildren Alivia, Breven Ashton, Emma, & Caden Moore, and Gavin & Riley Hamm. He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Reinhard Jeschke.
