Cletus ”Pete” Kirk, 77, Middletown, died June 28, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital-Muncie after an extended illness. He was born October 28, 1927 in Middletown, Indiana, and resided in Middletown, Indiana all of his life.
He retired from Weidner Cheverolet in the Parts Department and had previously worked at Allen’s Chevrolet in Middletown.
He served his country in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Middletown Masonic Lodge #271 F. & A.M. and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years: Marian Louise Smith Kirk. Daughter: Debbie & husband Jerry Chapman of Middletown. Three Stepsons: Ronald & wife Margaret Downham of Warrensburg, Missouri. Robert & wife Kim Downham of Indianapolis. Richard Wilson of Indianapolis. Siblings: Martha & husband Arnold Ervin of Anderson. Bill Kirk of Middletown. Lou Ann & husband Bill Parmer of Middletown. Bernice Sayers of Anderson. Grandchildren: Scott VanAlst of Plainfield, Connecticut. Amy Hancock of Dawsonville, Georgia. Cory Wilson, Trent Downham, Mike Downham, Clinton Downham and Allison Downham. Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James McCool & Maple Louise Cranor Kirk. Brothers: James Kirk and Gene Kirk. Sisters: Beulah Elsae and Charlene Saunders.
