Clayton G. Sampson Jr., 82 of Ellington, CT, loving husband for forty-eight years of Nancy M. (McFarland) Sampson, died on his birthday, September 3, 2016 at home. Clay was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Clayton G. and Alice (Schoen) Sampson. He was raised in Brooklyn and upstate New York and enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school, serving during the Korean War. He then met and married Nancy, a D.O.D. teacher, while working as a sub-contractor for the Dept. of Defense in Ankara, Turkey. They returned to Manchester, CT in 1968 and moved to Ellington in 1974. Prior to retiring he was a technician and salesman in the electronics industry for many years, and was a longtime member of the National Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and also St.
