Clayton “Punk” Erling Oothoudt, Jr., age 77, of Onigum, Minnesota went home on Friday, April 8th, 2022, from the Red Lake IHS Hospital in Red Lake, MN. Punk was born in Cass Lake, MN on November 9th, 1944, to Elizabeth (Bebeau) and Clayton Oothoudt, Sr.
Punk was an all-around amazing man with a very big heart, who was loved by everyone he met. He was always willing to help people when needed, never held a grudge and was a very forgiving person. Punk enjoyed joking and teasing, often pretending he couldn’t hear you even with his hearing aids. He liked watching movies with Jenny, listening to Hank Williams, Jr. and Johnny Cash (usually loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear) and being with his grandkids. Punk was always a very hard worker. He was as a shop teacher at the Four Directions School in Minneapolis and as building maintenance when not teaching. He had to be busy all the time, right up until his last days, he stayed busy with scrap metal. His smile and laugh will be forever missed by his family and all who knew him.
Family that Punk is reunited with are his daughter, Sonya; son, Clayton III; parents, Elizabeth and Clayton Sr., brothers, Butch and Chick; grandbabies, Nevaeh, B-Boy, Kia Jo, Robert Arnold, and Osiris as well as several other family members.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Constance “Connie” Oothoudt of Red Lake, daughters, Michelle Oothoudt of Deer River, Mardelle (Sam) Reese of Onigum, Colleen (Harley) Graves of Red Lake, and Jennifer Johnson of Bemidji; son, William (Berta) Pemberton, Jr. of Red Lake; brothers, Tim (Sandy) Oothoudt of Minneapolis, Doug (Sandy) Oothoudt and Terry Oothoudt both of Ball Club; special daughters, Paula Jo, Victoria, Jessica, Gina and Zoie; special son, Michael Jr.; numerous grandkids and great grandkids; his fur baby Wicker Wicker and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and his friends.
