Clay Eugene Tucker was born on October 14, 1950 in Norfolk, NE to Ervin and Bonnie Tucker. He passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Seward, NE at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 9 days. He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1968. He attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In 1980, Clay moved from Lincoln to Seward and opened Twin Oaks Lumber – working tirelessly to raise his three children. He married Julie on April 15, 1989 and gained two more daughters. A man who always found joy in the simple things, Clay was happiest working in his shop with his dog at his side, fishing with his kids or grandchildren, and traveling south with friends. Instilled with a work ethic that rivaled most, Clay could often be seen building, remodeling, or roofing the house of a neighbor, friend, or new acquaintance. His calloused hands tell the story of a man who turned his passion for building into a livelihood. Clay will always be remembered as a helping neighbor, a loyal friend, and a devoted father and grandfather. Clay is survived by his wife, Julie Tucker, Staplehurst, NE; children, Zack (Sarah) Tucker, Omaha, NE, Jacob (Rachell) Tucker, San Antonio, TX, Alyssa (Mike) Martin, San Antonio, TX, Lori Henk, Corpus Christi, TX, and Kari (Scott) Hofpar, Seward, NE; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Bonnie Tucker, Norfolk, NE; sister, Marsha (Terry) Rotherham, Norfolk, NE; and brother, Ward (Theresa) Tucker, Meadow Grove, NE. Clay was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Tucker.
