Claxton D. (” C. D.”) Joiner, of Stoughton, formerly of Dorchester and Florida, passed away on Monday October 16, 2006 after a prolonged illness. in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was 85 years old. Mr. Joiner was the beloved husband of the late Marypaul (Lallier) Joiner to whom he was married to for 58 years.
Claxton was born on May 1, 1921 in Boca Grande, Florida. He attended Boca Grande Public Schools and was a graduate of Boca Grande High School.
After High School Mr. Joiner attended the Merchant Marine Academy in Maryland and Graduated as a Marine Mechanical Engineer. He eventually attained the position of Chief Engineer and was gainfully employed by the Mystic Steamship Company in Mystic, Connecticut for the early part of his working career. After moving to the Boston area with his family, Mr. Joiner was employed by the former Boston Edison Company as an Engineer until his retirement.
