Claude Harrison Cox, 79, known by his family and friends as “Sonny” passed away peacefully at his home June 12, 2012. Sonny was born on June 14, 1932 to Henry and Sylvia Cox in Sanger, California and was raised on the family grape farm. As a young man, he joined the US Marine Corp and learned to be a top-notch cook. Cooking was one of his passions he loved to share with others.
Family and music were his life. He enjoyed all types of music and worked many years for Dunkley Music.
Sonny married his best friend Gloria Nichols. They were married 25 years. He is survived by his wife Gloria, five daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Arehart, Boise, Wendy (Jeff) Snyder, Chandler, AZ, Bunnie (Ken) March, Nampa, Claudia (Mike) Wilson, Nampa and Julie (Charles) Jones, Tumwater, WA, a sister Thelma Killingsworth, Pennsylvania, seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, 2 nephews, 3 nieces and his special friends Tina Clark and Christie Morgan. Sonny was previously married to Irma Porter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Velma Custer and grandson Damien Mendenhall.
