Claude Havanna Clement, Jr., of the Bungalows in Jonesboro, Arkansas went to his heavenly home on January 14, 2022. He was born December 12, 1924 in Furlow, Arkansas to Claude H Clement, Sr and Mary Rice Clement. His friends and family gave him the nickname of “June”. He graduated from Lonoke school in 1942. He married the love of his life, Martha DuPriest Clement on September 15, 1951 In McRae, Arkansas. They were married 64 years.

His favorite past time was to attend basketball and football games of his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. He and Martha didn’t miss many. They traveled extensively, enjoying the beauty of the earth. His favorite past time was yard work.

During his lifetime, his career included farming, working for the Arkansas County Extension Service, as Assistant County Agent, Associate County Agent and County Extension Agent- Staff Chairman, from 1956-1988. He served in Pulaski, Arkansas and Phillips Counties, finishing his career with Clement Consulting in 1993.

He served in the US Navy during WWII seeing action in Iwo Jima. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a MS Degree in Agriculture. He was a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi, Arkansas County Agricultural Agents Association, serving as President of the AACAA in 1983-84. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 1974. He was raised a Methodist, serving on many boards at various churches. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Furlow UMC in Furlow, Arkansas. He was a lifetime member of the Lonoke Masonic Lodge #51.

Claude Clement, Jr. is survived by his son, Steve Clement (Clara) of Parkdale, Arkansas; his daughter, Cheryl Clement Neelon of Jonesboro, Arkansas; son-in-law, Allen Mathews of Harrisburg, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Christopher Mathews of Jonesboro, Casey Howton (Daniel) of Harrisburg, Kyle Berryman (Katie) of Conway, Justin Pamplin (Carole) of McGehee, Zach Pamplin (Michelle) of Parkdale; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Daryl Clement (Shelby) of Furlow, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fortney of North Little Rock and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends and caregivers, Tiasha Freeman, Gwendolyn Williams and Terrasa Andrews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter, Claudia Mathews; his son-in- law, Bob Neelon and three brothers, Fred, Lemuel and Jimmy Clement.

He would like to be remembered as a man who loved God, loved his family and wanted all of them to be successful and live a Christian life.
