Claude Franklin Huffman, Sr., 90, of Suffolk, VA passed away on Friday March, 29, 2024. He was the son of the late, Claude Charles Huffman and Grace Bibb Huffman. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Anne Huffman; 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.Frank was a great husband, father, and Christian. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Missionary Church, V.F.W., D.A.V., American Legion, and F.O.P. Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the honor of purple heart. He also helped form the Nansemond County Police Department before it merged in the City of Suffolk. He was a City of Norfolk police officer for 17 years, before retiring as City of Suffolk police sergeant of 22 years. Left to cherish his memory is his children, Frank Huffman, Jr. (Beth), Grace Lee (Ralph), Daniel E. Huffman (Wendy), Craig A. Huffman (Cassie), and Michael L. Huffman (Sherry); 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
