Clarice, the daughter of Robert and Zelpha (Russell) McWhirter, was born April 15, 1923, in Prairie City, Iowa. She graduated from Newton High School in 1940. She was united in marriage with David S. Trotter on February 9, 1941, in Princeton, MO. Clarice worked in metal preparation for Thombert, Inc. for 19 years.
Clarice is survived by her children: Saundra (Richard) Funk of Milford, Doug (Anita) Trotter of Newton, and Rick Trotter of Kellogg; her foster son, Bob McKeever of Newton; her grandchildren: Gary Funk, Eric (Chrisann) Funk, Scott Funk (Molly Sikora), Joe (Carrie) Funk, Ryan (Jodi) Funk, Rob Trotter, Lisa Trotter-Kruse, Chasity Trotter (Earl Knox), Brittany Trotter, Cody Trotter, and Jenifer McKeever; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 special nieces, Joyce Conley and Staci Parisi; and many other nieces and nephews.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dave; son, David Michael Trotter; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Anne Knox; and siblings: Robert McWhirter, Ruth Nass, Helen Rexroat, and Alice Trotter.
