Claribel Y. Marshall was born on November 1, 1919 to George and Clara Yarborough in Bryan County, OK. The family moved to Roswell in 1929 for her mothers health.
Claribel attended public schools and graduated from Roswell High in 1936. She attended a business college for two years. On June 2, 1944 Claribel married I.J. Marshall he preceded her in death in 1983.
Claribel has been a devout member of St. Andrews since 1948. She was also an active member in several community organizations. She served as president of the Womens Axillary for two terms and president of St. Marthas Guild, a group that met each Monday at the Marshall home to bead, sequin and sew items to be sold at annual bazaar. She was also secretary, treasurer, membership chairman and president of the Community Concert Association for 30 years. Claribel also worked with thr Roswell Assistance League now the Community League, a group that bought a barracks from Walker Air Force Base and began operating the Working Mothers Day Nursery. Later, with funds raised from their annual Frolics, the present building was constructed.
The Marshalls enjoyed traveling the world.
