Clarence “Ken” Haskett, 85, passed away Sunday, May 26, at his residence in Muncie.  He was born July 17, 1927, in Muncie, the son of Kenneth and Wilda Davis Haskett, and attended Muncie schools.

     He was employed at Bacon-American, Glascocks, and owned and operated Kendon Tool and Die, now Kendon Corporation.

     An avid motorcyclist, he owned his first Harley in 1940 at the age of thirteen.  He also enjoyed racing, having raced open wheel midgets, and having built a couple of Indy cars with A.J. Foyt.  At one time he owned cars driven by Mel Kenyon a seven time world champion.

     Surviving are his children, Jayne E. Rector, Michael L. Haskett, James A. Haskett, Robert E. Haskett, (wife, Shelby), Doris O’Bryant, (husband, George, and Edward L. Haskett; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Haskett, who died in 1996; and his sister, Doris White.
