Gene Ankrom passed from this life on July 26, 2012. He was born on March 2, 1939 in Batavia. Gene was a devoted husband to Barbara for 52 years and a great father to his children. Gene was a veteran, and served honorably in the United States Army where he developed his love for our country. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Elizabeth Ankrom, sister Eleanor Esz, and son, Michael Todd Ankrom. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ankrom, brother Bill and sister Marg, children, Gene, Ken, Patricia, and Chris; thirteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many friends whom he loved dearly, and his extended church family at St. George Catholic Church, where he attended daily Mass. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, and circle of friends. He was an example of strength and courage to so many of us.
