Clarence Edwin Kingery, the son of Elmer and Birdie E. (Brown) Kingery, was born November 7, 1922 in Marion County, Iowa. Early in his life his family moved to Jasper County, Iowa. Clarence attended Newton High School.
On July 7, 1940, Clarence was united in marriage to June L.
His parents; his grandson, Lewis W. Hobbs in 1996 and his brother, Larry “Wink” Kingery, preceded Clarence in death. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, June; his two sons and daughters-in-law and his two daughters and sons-in-law, George and leanna Kingery of Newton; Jeannie and Fred Boettcher of Kellogg; Gerald “Jerry” and Joyce Kingery of Newton and Janette and Curtis Braaksma of Lynnville, Iowa; his eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jeri Hobbs, Jenise and Kevin Huizenga, Alayna and Louis Modlin, Alex and Gayle Kingery, Jared and Jen Kingery, Jonna Kingery; his eight great-grandchildren, Codi, Lewis, Jr., and Andrew Hobbs, Jory Ringler, Kendra, Jacob, and Kylea Huizenga and Colton Kingery; his three brothers, Walter, Harold, and Clifford “Buzz” Kingery all of Newton; his two sisters, Mabel Hobbs and Myrtle Schwarz of Newton; and his many nieces and nephews.
