CEKANDER, Clarence Douglas, Kalamazoo. Passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010. Doug was born May 18, 1945 in Three Rivers, a son of Howard and Jennie Slack Cekander and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, served his country in the US Army and was a die setter at the Comstock General Motors Plant for 31 years.
On November 4, 1967 he married Karlene Dunn, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Tracey Harold Drew of Kalamazoo, Teresa Cekander of Kalamazoo and Tania Savage of FL; 12 grandchildren, Brad, Shanda, Allison, Heather, John, Tayla, David, Stephen, Sarah, Jenna, Aaron and Alexis; 2 great-grandchildren, Trenten and Jordynn; his mother, Jennie Cekander of Portage; two brothers, Howard Charlene Cekander of Portage and Norman Carol Cekander of Goshen, IN; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. Doug loved his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his mother very much. He is loved and will be missed dearly.
