It is with sadness and rejoicing that the Ohana of Clarence A. Toussaint, announce his peaceful transition due to illness on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the age of 51. Clarence was born in Trinidad and Tobago, immigrated to the United States, and served 23+ years in the U.S. Army (first as an enlisted soldier and retiring as a commissioned officer). He was stationed in numerous places across the United States, including Fort Bragg, NC, Fort Lee, VA, Schofield Barracks, HI, Fort Shafter, HI, and Fort Dix, NJ. Clarence had a passion of service before self, family, and community. All things he did in life he did with excellence, integrity, and compassion.
It was these same characteristics that caused him to continue his service to others beyond the uniform! After retiring from the U.S. Army and moving to Virginia, Clarence transitioned into everyday life, but could not shake the desire to service communities around the country. Clarence, as a pastor and a man who cared more for others than himself, began working for FEMA to ensure that he could do more. He had dedicated his time with this field from 2016, till the day of his transition of life.
Clarence was a member of Destiny Christian Center in Pearl City, HI and The River Church in Chester, VA. Besides his career and family, Clarence loved playing soccer and cricket. He enjoyed all things basketball – especially March Madness.
Clarence met and married the Love of his life, Lakisha. Their enduring Covenant continued for 29 years, until his death. His children loved and respected him richly and were a delight to his heart – and his GrandPrince, the FAVORITE of ALL!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice K. Toussaint (Dyer). Clarence is survived by his dad, Cedric Toussaint (Susan); his siblings, Colin (Obi), Carla, Calvin, Carlyle, Cyan (OonaMaria) and Christopher; his wife, Lakisha; their four children, Micah Jones, Cedric Toussaint (Soraida), Caleb Toussaint, and Netanya Toussaint; and his beloved GrandPrince, Cedric Toussaint; his in-loves, Cynthia Powell, Dina Moore, Nitasha Davis, Antwoin Taylor, and Nissan Davis; along with many nieces, nephews, and relatives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
