Clara Rose Potts Newcomb surrendered her earthly life willingly to heavenly spirits on Monday, October 17, 2022 with a taste of excitement. She was surrounded by her loving and faithful family. She was the third child of Edward and Lillian Potts of the Dudley community.
Clara was married to Harold D. Newcomb since September 27, 1959 or 62 years (09/27/1959-06/22/21). Although they did not have children of their own, they enjoyed other children of family and friends. Her education was high school and business college.
Clara is survived by two brothers, Leslie (Helen) Potts of Goldsboro, N.C. and Guy Potts of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Sarah Lynch of Seven Springs, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Potts of Texas and brother-in-law, Donald Lynch of Goldsboro, N.C.
The Dudley Community was forever home to her and she remained on family land her entire life. She was active in Emmaus Baptist Church where her paternal grandparents were charter members. She served in various positions in the church.
