Clara Gacek, 93, of Kensington, passed away peacefully at the Hospital of Central CT on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Born on August 7, 1921 in New Britain, Clara was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Ciepla) Malinowski, and the wife of the late Jacob T. Gacek. Prior to her retirement, Clara was employed as a bookkeeper with Connecticut National Bank. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Farmington. Clara is survived by her daughter, Susan Smialowski and grandson John J. Smialowski of Kensington, her sisters-in-law, Genevieve and Jean Malinowski as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jacob, Clara was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Stanley, Lucian and Henry Malinowski and her sister, Cecelia Popovich.
