Clara Fendley, 69, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Aug 29, 2015 while vacationing with family and friends in Show Low AZ. Clara was born in Fabens, Texas to Baker and Irene Ethridge. Clara grew up in Fabens, achieving many honors in school including salutatorian of her high school graduating class. Later on she graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors and Master’s degree. During the university years she was named the Maid of Cotton for the El Paso Lower Valley cotton festival. After moving to the Valley with her family in 1985, Clara used her academic skills to become a faculty member of Mesa Community College and then on to Scottsdale Community College where she was named Outstanding Faculty Member for the 1997-1998 school year by the Scottsdale Charros. Clara always maintained a good balance between career and family and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Clara is survived by husband of 48 years, Jim; daughter, Karen; son, Jimmy; granddaughter, Stella; sister and brother in law, Helen and Delbert Sanders; sister in law, Mae Ethridge, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
