It is with great sadness that on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada, our precious mother, Clara B. Diaz, surrounded by her family, peacefully passed away at the age of 93.

Clara was born on March 18, 1924 to Eugenio and Francisca Barrio in Deming, NM. In 1941 she meter her husband, Arturo M. Diaz, who was a CC Camp in Deming, NM. They moved to Lordsburg and resided there for 53 years. From this union were born four children, Arturo, Eddie, Lila (Paul) Jaramillo and Nellie (Joe) Perez.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nieves Barrio; grandchildren, Patricia, Javier, Rebecca, Raquel, Sandra, Christina, Mario, Eddie, Paul, Anthony, Sandy, Eva, Jose and Sylvia; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arturo; her brothers, Roberto, Eugenio and Lalo; sister Manuela; and sister-in-laws Cuca and Paula Barrio.

She was known for her specialty in baking biscochitos. Many couples requested these delicious cookies for their weddings. Her crème puffs and peanut brittle were awesome. She loved to sew and was a great seamstress. She made clothes for her children. She also loved to crochet and enjoyed playing bingo.
