Clara Ratto Cox passed away on January 4, 2012 in the town she loved so dearly, Alameda California.
She was born May 18, 1922 and resided in Bay Farm Island for eighty-nine years. Her parents were Benedetto and Caterina Ratto who ran a vegetable farm and had eight wonderful children including, Theresa, Mary, Ben, Bacci, Clara, Tony, Mario, and Lawrence.
She was married in 1946 to Gordon Cox and soon after had Nancy, Paul, and James Cox.
Her grandchildren include Katie and Nick Perata, Amy and Jerry Polk, Sarah Cox, Jessica and Robbie Prescott, Evan and Adam Cox. Her great grandchildren are Taylor and Paige Perata. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-laws Shannon and Renee Cox. Her sister-in-laws include the late Lorraine, Marie, and France Ratto. Rosalee Ratto survives her.
She was a lover of family, singing, dancing, laughter, and cooking. Her loyalty, strength, and generosity will be remembered for years to come. Her loving family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are all blessed to have her in their lives. She will be greatly missed.
