Mrs. Grant passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her residence. Age 74 years. The daughter of the late Eugene and Arlene (Curry) Smith was born November 21, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Grant was a master scuba diver, participated in equestrian competitions and parades, enjoyed synchronized swimming and was a lead singer, song writer and guitar player. Geni graduated from T.L. Handy High School and received the Distinguished Alumni Award, she attended MSU, was the Director of the aviation department at Delta College, Master Flight Instructor and Safety Representative at FAA. In 1998 she was the Great Lakes Regional Flight Instructor of the Year, President of the Bay City Valley Aero Club and volunteer for Wings of Mercy. She accumulated more than 12,000 hours of flight time in her career. Mrs. Grant also served as superintendent of Sunday school at Trinity Episcopal Church and was an artist and owner of Affinity Designs.

 

Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband, Jerry R. Grant whom she married on June 19, 1965; three children, Greg (Heather) Grant, Angelique (Todd) Crelly and Tony (Angela) Grant; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alivia and Gavin Crelly, Alyssa Grant, Jordy (Whitney) Campbell, Owen Campbell and Carrie Irvin; two great grandchildren, Aiden Campbell and Callie Campbell and her dog, Smoke E. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Grant Crelly.

 

At the request of Mrs. Grant cremation has taken place.
