Christopher Alan Feuchter, beloved husband and father, passed away in Albuquerque on August 16, 2016 at the age of 74. He was born September 23, 1941 in Berea, Ohio to Clyde and Alice Feuchter. Chris grew up in Columbus, Ohio and studied mathematics, physics, and astronomy at The Ohio State University, graduating with a master’s degree in 1965. He then started work in New Mexico as an operations research analyst for the United States Air Force, where he spent his career of 34 years. Chris loved the game of chess and was an awarded competitive player. Additionally, he was a strong league bowler. Chris enjoyed computing, attending sporting events, hiking, and mountain climbing, summiting many New Mexico peaks and Colorado fourteeners. He was a prolific traveler, having been to nearly every US state, including Alaska and Hawaii, and numerous countries on five continents. Chris’s friends and family knew and loved him for his quiet, rational intelligence and sense of humor. He was an avid reader and his knowledge in a wide variety of subjects was impressive. Chris is survived by his wife of 36 years Maxine; sons, Alex and Colin; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill.
