Christine Buford, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was born in Water Valley, Mississippi, daughter of Henry White and Nettie (Pulley) White.
She married O.J. Buford in 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2016. Christine is survived by a son, Christopher Buford and wife Carol of Atlanta, Georgia; four granddaughters: Ceterra, Chrisha, Christiana, and Taliyah Buford; one great-grandchild: Jordan Arbuckle; several nieces and nephews; special nephew: Derrick Carr and wife Natalie of Centralia; two special friends: Ora L. Brown and Mary Collins both of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Jessie White and Hudie White, two sisters: Annie Daniels and Lillie B. Russell, and a special friend: Delores Wanzo.
Christine was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Diamond Chapter #32. She worked for SSM Health St. Marys Hospital for 15 years and she also worked for 23 years at Siegler Corporation. Christine also was a member of the Junior Child Welfare Club, the Women’s League, and the Socialite Club. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
