Christina ” Tina” Hays, 55, of Salem, died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born, March 30, 1959 in Salem the daughter of the Patricia S. (Jurczak) Saltsman and the late Richard L. Saltsman. She was a math teacher at Salem High School for 26 years and also the yearbook advisor. She was a 1977 graduate of Salem High School, received a BS in education in 1981 from Muskingum College, and also in 1986 she received a Masters degree in secondary education from the College of Mount St. Joseph. She was member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Salem where she was a Sunday School Teacher and very active in Church activities. She was a member of Quota International of Salem. She was recognized for volunteer and quotarian of the year. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for the speech and hearing clinic. She loved kids and had a positive influence in many childrens and young adults lives. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt and great aunt. Survivors include her mother, Patricia Saltsman of Salem; one daughter, Beth Hays, of Parma, Michigan; two sisters, Vicki Becker of Tucson, Arizona and Terri (William) Fleming of Canfield; Wayne Hays of Salem; Several nieces and nephews, Kate, Kelly and Rusty Fleming, Rick Becker, Callie Baker, Shauna Becker, Shari and Shelly Morrison and Eli Hays.
