On December 12, 2012, Christi Vincent lost a valiant battle with cancer, and her family and friends here and around the world lost an inspirational force and role model for living life to its fullest. The adjectives carefree, gregarious, generous, adventurous, flamboyant and multi-faceted only begin to describe Christi and the impact she made on each and every person with whom she came in contact. Whether as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, an English teacher in Saudi Arabia, a member of the epidemiology department of the UAB School of Public Health, or most recently in her position with the UAB Athletic Department, Christi’s strong, driven personality continuously inspired and encouraged those around her. Although her passions included water skiing, shopping, decorating, and traveling the world, her primary interest was always that of helping others in need. She volunteered her time with various organizations, loved Olive Garden, Christmas, fireworks on the Fourth of July, and especially her 5 dogs. Christi was preceded in death by her mom, Fay Godsey, and by her baby boy, Stalin. Those left to cherish an endless supply of wonderful memories include her husband of 6 years, Harold Pinedo; her father and step-mother, John and Suzanne Vincent; her step-father, David C. Godsey; her sister and brother-in-law, Adria and Eddie Gooch along with their children, Gabriella, Gavin, and Garrison; her step-brother and his wife, Chuck and Donna Browning and their children Auburn, Austin, and Aarin; as well as step-brother Matt Browning and wife Laurel and their daughter, Olivia. In addition to her family, Christi leaves behind an innumerable number of friends around the world.
