Mrs. Christel Bieroth-Rock, age 70, beloved wife of the late John Charles Rock of New York City, passed away suddenly on March 23rd at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, New York.
Born in Oberhausen Germany on September 30, 1938, Christel has lived in New York City for many years where she worked in the financial industry. At the time of her death she was employed as a legal assistant with the firm of Mark Hamburgh Esq. of New York City. Christel was an accomplished artist and has had several exhibits of her work in New York City. She received a bachelor’s degree in French and Economics from Columbia University. Christel was a member of the Art Student League of New York City, the Eleven Hundred Water Color Society of New York, and The Outdoor Hiking Club of Westchester County. Christel loved the outdoors, camping, skiing, hiking, and travelled extensively. She enjoyed her many loving friends and family.
In addition to her Nephew Edward Kasparek and his wife Tina of Milford, she is also survived by her longtime beloved friends, Helma Reid, Eileen Stewart, Rosemary Bleha and Andrea Leopold of New York, several long time friends, cousins, nieces and nephews in Germany and France.
