Chief Master Sergeant James A. Robertson, 55 of Great Falls passed away after a long battle with cancer, on November 10, 2015.

James was born July 1, 1960 in Conrad, Montana to David and Ilene (Bartlett) Robertson. He grew up in Great Falls, Montana and graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 1979. In 1983 Chief Robertson enlisted in the United States Air Force. He completed Basic Military Training, at Lackland AFB in Texas. Chief Robertson was assigned to Castle AFB, Shemya AFB and Malmstrom AFB during his nine years in the USAF and honorably discharged in 1992. He joined the Montana Air National Guard immediately after leaving the USAF, from 1992-1995 he was a traditional guardsman. In 1995 he was hired as a fulltime technician as the document control specialist. In 2012, he achieved his Associates Degree in Applied Science Logistics, Community College of the Air Force. He was currently the Operations Superintendent, responsible for overall squadron compliance.

Jim was a genuine soul and touched everyone who met him. He lived his faith.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Robertson; his son, Craig Robertson; daughter Jamie (Nathan) Palmer; and his grandchildren, Trever; Auston; Boston; Olivia; Anthony; and Kameron; his brothers Mike (May) Robertson; Steve (Loraine) Robertson; Randy (Mary) Robertson; and Lonnie (Judy) Robertson; his sisters, Misty Ray; Sheryl Sharbono; Connie Choate; Darlene Williams; and his mother, Ilene Broere; step-mother Dorothy Robertson; sister-in-law Debbie (John) Roeber; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jim was proceeded in death by his father, David Robertson; his grandparents, Lynn and Alice Bartlett; and Peter and Angela Robertson.
