Chester William Shutter, 79, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Chester was born the son of the late Albert and Myrtle (Dunegan) Shutter on Sunday, July 20, 1941, in Albany, NY. Chester worked for Oldcastle, Inc. for 38 years as a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all else, he loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Chester will be remembered by his children William (Mary), John and Kurt (Lisa) Shutter; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jessica Shutter; sisters Kate (Albert) Deering and Myrtle Shutter; brother, Lester Shutter; many several nieces and nephews.
Chester was predeceased by his wife, Barbara in 2019; son, James; and brothers Ronald, David and Sonny Shutter.
