Williamsport, MD – Cheryl Marie Swope, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at her home.
She was born on January 14, 1939, in Williamsport, MD to the late Raymond “Bill” and Frances Eleanor (Turner) Jacobs.
Cheryl attended Williamsport Schools.
She was previously a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church and most recently attended New Life Christian Ministries in Hagerstown, MD.
She was an Auxiliary member of the Maryland State Police FOP Lodge #69; Washington County Bird Club; Nature Conservancy; Southside Bowling Leagues.
Cheryl was a Washington County Election Judge.
She was an accomplished pianist, avid wildlife enthusiast, enjoyed reading, crocheting, needlepoint, cooking and baking.
Cheryl and her husband Allen and family enjoyed traveling and camping all over the U.S. and Canada.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Allen E. Swope; daughter Jackie Swope Knight of Frederick, MD; daughter Judy Holt and her husband Pete of Elliottsburg, PA; daughter Jenny Schlereth and her husband Lenny of Toms Brook, VA; son Jeff Swope and his wife Ruth Ann of Westernport, MD; son John Swope and companion Linda of Rosedale, MD; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law Mickey Knight; two sisters Lucille Martin and Frances Ardinger; brother William “Billy” Jacobs.
