Cheryl JoAnne Collins, age 71, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Monday, September 3, 2018 in the comfort of her family’s presence in Elkhart General Hospital. She was born January 4, 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana, the older of two children born to Robert and Margaret Gleason.
Cheryl loved dancing and teaching her skills through Miss Cheri’s School of Dance in Cassopolis and Dowagiac. After retiring from the Cass County Medical Care Facility, she worked for Guardianship and Alternatives as a field representative. She stayed active teaching water aerobics as the water aerobics fitness instructor for the Cass County Council on Aging.
Cheryl loved to play all types of card games, especially Euchre with her friends at the VFW and COA. She enjoyed going to her grandson’s baseball and football games, wrestling meets, and watching him in the show arena at the Cass County Fair. Cheryl will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Todd and Claire Collins of Cassopolis; grandson, Gage Collins; and brother and sister in law, Dennis and Laura Gleason of Decatur; niece, Shawna (Eric) West of Schoolcraft and their two daughters, Ally West and Megan West; nephew, Jeremy (Tiffany) Gleason of Henderson, Tennessee, and their two sons, Ryan Gleason and Nicholas Gleason.
