Charlotte Ann Housworth Shoemake, 73, of Newnan, Ga., passed away on December 31, 2018, from complications of Alzheimer’s. She was the widow of the late Garland Shoemake. They had been married for 28 years when Garland died in 1990. Born in Newnan, Ga., she was the daughter of James and Nadine Housworth. She graduated from Western High School and was working as the manager of the Newnan/Coweta City and County Employee Credit Union when she retired. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Newnan where she taught Senior Adult Sunday School for many years. She was also an active member of Newnan Pilot Club for many years. She was known as a great floral designer, seamstress, painter and crafter/artisan. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted friend to many.
She is survived by her brother, Warren Housworth; daughter, Lisa Shoemake June (Alan); son, Tim Shoemake (Lori); grandchildren, Lindsay Scholz (Paul), Sara Shoemake, Anna June and Aimee June, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Nadine Housworth; in-laws, Genarrh and Clestelle Shoemake; her husband, Garland Shoemake; her brother-in-law, Sherwin Shoemake; and sister-in-law, Janelle Housworth.
