CHARLOTTE EDWARDS NIGRELLI, 88, a 43 year resident of Scottsdale, AZ, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 9. Born in Buffalo, NY to Karl H and Rose A (Donahue) Edwards on April 9, 1926. Charlotte was raised in Buffalo, NY with her siblings: sister, Dorothy (Francis) Claybough, brother, James (Lucille) Edwards, and sister, Marguerite (Joseph) Grande. Both parents as well as her three siblings have predeceased her. Charlotte graduated with honors from New York State College for Teachers in Buffalo, NY with a Bachelors of Science degree in education in 1946. Charlotte also held two masters degrees; one in history and one in guidance counseling. Charlotte attended both Canisius College and Buffalo State University for her post graduate studies. Charlotte began her teaching career at LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, NY. Charlotte was Assistant Principal and also taught English and 7th and 8th grade Literature at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Scottsdale, AZ from 1972-1984. Charlotte was Principal of Most Holy Trinity School in Phoenix, AZ from 1984 until her retirement in 1991. In 1951, she met her future husband, Nelson C. Nigrelli. They were married on November 27, 1952. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 27, 2002. Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson, and her infant daughter, Lucille Rose. She is survived by her son, Thomas Karl Nigrelli; daughter, Elizabeth E. Rogers (Jeffery); son, Paul Russell Nigrelli, and grandson, Jordan W. Rogers. Charlotte belonged to Blessed Sacrament Parish in Scottsdale, AZ where she was a founding member. She served the Lord as a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector, and in R.C.I.A. Charlotte was a kind hearted, special, and loving woman. She was concerned about others and always took good care of everyone else. Charlotte touched lives and inspired many. She believed in the value of a good education and had a strong faith in God.
